Rasheed Jihad, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, holds B.A. degrees in Business Marketing, Business Management, and Sociology, along with an M.S. degree in Organizational Leadership.


He is the grandson of Charles Teenie "One Shot" Harris, a renowned photographer who captured life in Pittsburgh's black neighborhoods for the Pittsburgh Courier from 1936 to 1975. Rasheed spent a decade in prison for a wrongful murder conviction as a young adult but has since dedicated himself to violence prevention and community reformation.


Notably, Rasheed brokered peace between the Bloods and Crips in Pittsburgh and devised a gang peace model implemented in five U.S. cities. He has consulted for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and was part of its National Gang Task Force.


Rasheed Jihad is a key figure at Africa Rize, an international non-profit in Johannesburg, South Africa, championing spiritual, economic, and political education, social justice, and human rights.
