Farah Nayeri is a culture writer for The New York Times and author of the upcoming book Takedown: Art and Power in the Digital Age (Astra House, 2021). She also hosts the CultureBlast podcast. Originally from Iran, Farah began her journalism career as a reporter for Time Magazine in Paris, and later joined Bloomberg’s Paris newsroom. She went on to become Bloomberg’s Rome bureau chief and its European economics correspondent, and was sent to Baghdad in 2003 to cover the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Farah has also written for The Economist and The Wall Street Journal. She is a regular moderator at New York Times conferences, and has also  spoken at Sciences Po and the Royal Academy of Arts. She is a classical pianist and a member of the U.K. Critics’ Circle.
