He began his career as a Staff Attorney in the Montgomery County Court in Dayton, Ohio, where he managed a diverse caseload of over three hundred criminal and civil cases, authored numerous judicial opinions, and demonstrated exceptional knowledge of court procedures.

Scott's passion for education led him to academia, where he served as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of the Criminal and Social Justice Program at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. During his tenure, he grew the program from its inception to over ninety students and developed a reputation for innovative and effective pedagogical techniques. His teaching philosophy emphasizes a blend of theory and practice, utilizing the Socratic Method to engage students in discussions about law, criminal justice systems, and constitutional principles.

In addition to his academic career, Scott has extensive experience in nonprofit management, having served as the Executive Director of Workplace ReConnections, a Montgomery County organization focused on transitional services for individuals reentering the community after justice system interventions.
